To find the rough proportions of the skirt, the skirt was exported as an.FBX using the SB3UtilityGUI to 3ds Max. In order to create a more perfect skirt pattern, the pattern must first be created at an initial working resolution based on some proportion, and then downscaled. However, since the skirt has been made to fit in a 512x512 box, there is some distortion. Fortunately, the UVs of the skirt make it fairly easy to create patterns without having to worry too much about warping it's nothing more than strips of rectangles. Havent checked the mods in a long time, maybe some of this is addressed with mods.Checker patterns are often used in 3DCG to visually display how well a UV is made There isn't really a way to create a texture without warping, except by painting directly onto the polygons using a 3D modeling package. Trying to just put the camera in front of your characters face usually ends up with seeing some creepy internal model stuff if they move at all (which they will).
